April Truck of the Month

This month's eye-catcher is a Golden Oldie Peterbilt from 1969. This model 358A sports a 400 bhp Cummins with a 5x4 transmission routed to 4.11 Rockwell SQHD rears. The Pete's cab interior is stock and has a 36 inch sleeper.
Denny Henderson, from central Texas, bought the tractor three years ago. Denny says he's been a "truck junkie" all his life with a special affection for Peterbilts. He purchased the truck to restore as a hobby and "to have fun with." His wife Tammi and son Bryan helped out with the restoration.
Recently, Henderson was able to obtain the Pete's original build sheet and discovered that it was one of five ordered by Conoco Oil, located in Glendive, Montana. Conoco later sold it to someone in Denver, Colorado where it hauled lumber until 1984. It was then sold to a rodeo stock contractor in Cleburne, Texas who drove it daily until Denny's purchase of the unit.
Along with his restoration hobby, Denny enjoys being a member of the American Truck Historical Society and "being around old trucks."
