Tomas Scheckter is the latest member of South Africa's top racing family to try his hand at international motorsports.

Scheckter, the son of 1979 Formula One champion Jody Scheckter and nephew of former F1 competitor Ian Scheckter, began his career in karts in South Africa before graduating to cars and moving to Europe to further his racing education. He eventually served as a test driver for Jaguar's Formula One effort before and moving to the United States to race in the IndyCar Series.

Away from the track, Scheckter enjoys golf and wakeboarding, cycling and remote control cars.
